|
The Federal Aviation Administration has proposed broad new safety rules for helicopter operators, including air ambulances. Among other provisions, the rules would require operators to use the latest on-board technology and equipment to avoid terrain and obstacles, and enhanced procedures for flying in challenging weather, at night and when landing in remote locations. The proposed rule is published in the Federal Register, with comments accepted through Jan. 10.
