The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) manages more than 300 codes and works with more than 250 technical committees in its codes and standards development process. Below is a list of NFPA committee happenings for the week of March 24-28.

Public input and commenting

NFPA 30, Flammable and Combustible Liquids Code. The first draft report for the standard’s 2027 edition is open for public comment until June 3. The report is posted under the “next edition” tab in the “first draft committee information” section. To submit a public input using the NFPA’s online submission system, go directly to the NFPA 901 page using the link above. Once on the NFPA 901 page, select the link "submit a public input" to begin the process.

Meeting minutes and notices

NFPA 37, Standard for the Installation and Use of Stationary Combustion Engines and Gas Turbines. A notice for an upcoming meeting taking place May 28-29 to discuss the first draft of the standard’s 2027 is posted under the “next edition” tab in the “first draft committee information” section.

NFPA 45, Standard on Fire Protection for Laboratories Using Chemicals. First draft meeting minutes from the committee’s March 12, 13, 17 and 18 meetings are posted under the “next edition” tab in the “first draft committee information” section.

NFPA 70B, Standard for Electrical Equipment Maintenance. A notice for a meeting taking place Aug. 5-6 to discuss the second draft of the standard’s 2026 is posted under the “next edition” tab in the “second draft committee information” section.

NFPA 204, Standard for Smoke and Heat Venting. A notice for an upcoming meeting taking place May 13 to discuss the first draft of the standard’s 2027 is posted under the “next edition” tab in the “first draft committee information” section.
