New York

The Morgan Stanley Adult Emergency Department for New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center recently broke ground on a modernization of its ED. The design will provide expanded treatment space, improved triaging and upgraded infrastructure and equipment. Davis Brody Bond is working with daSilva Architects on the project.

Kentucky

Anchor Health Properties was selected development manager of the Heart and Vascular Institute, a 39,000-square-foot facility on the St. Elizabeth Healthcare Edgewood campus in Edgewood. Projected to begin construction in November 2014, the facility will be part of St. Elizabeth Healthcare's $30 million investment in its existing cardiovascular program.

Massachusetts

Groundbreaking recently was held for the Brigham Building for the Future project located on the Brigham and Women's Hospital campus. The $280 million project, totaling 620,000 square feet, will feature an 11-story research lab and clinical facility, and a 460-car below-grade parking garage. Suffolk Construction is partnering with architect firm NBBJ on the project, scheduled for 2016 completion.

Iowa

Genesis Health System announced plans for $138.5 million in new construction and renovation to Genesis Medical Center, Davenport. The plan calls for 203,000 square feet of new construction and 115,000 square feet of renovation at the medical center. A new seven-story tower will include 12 new surgical suites and three floors for 64 inpatient beds.
