Kaiser Permanente broke ground for the new $900 million San Diego Central Hospital. Phase 1 includes 321 beds in a seven-story building that will enable future expansion, central plant, hospital support building and an expandable parking structure. Targeting LEED Gold certification, the hospital will feature several sustainable elements in its design.

Ridgeview Behavioral Hospital in Van Wert County recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for a 16,500-square-foot addition that will increase the number of patient beds from its current 40 to an estimated 76–78 patient beds after the expansion. The addition was divided into two halves, a design that allows Ridgeview staff to service both sides of the hospital simultaneously or close one half if demand allows. The project will be built by Thomas & Marker Construction Co. and the architect is Design Collaborative.
