NFPA weekly update: Jan 6-10

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) manages more than 300 codes and works with more than 250 technical committees in its codes and standards development process. Below is a list of NFPA committee happenings for the week of Jan. 6-10.

Meeting notices and agendas

NFPA 101®, Life Safety Code®. A first draft meeting agenda for the Jan. 23 meeting is posted under the “next edition” tab in the “first draft committee information” section. The committee also posted several second draft meeting notices as it progresses on the code’s 2027 edition.

NFPA 220, Standard on Types of Building Construction. The committee posted a second draft meeting notice for its July 17 meeting under the “next edition” tab in the “second draft committee information” section.

NFPA 221, Standard for High Challenge Fire Walls, Fire Walls, and Fire Barriers. The committee posted a second draft meeting notice for its July 17 meeting under the “next edition” tab in the “second draft committee information” section.

NFPA 232, Standard for the Protection of Records. A second draft meeting agenda for the Feb. 18-19 meeting is posted under the “next edition” tab in the “second draft committee information” section.

NFPA 1225, Standard for Emergency Services Communications. The committee posted first draft meeting notices for its Jan. 16-17 and Jan. 21 meetings under the “next edition” tab in the “first draft committee information” section.

NFPA 5000, Building Construction and Safety Code. A first draft meeting agenda for the Jan. 24 meeting is posted under the “next edition” tab in the “first draft committee information” section. The committee also posted several second draft meeting notices as it progresses on the code’s 2027 edition.

NFPA 80A, Recommended Practice for Protection of Buildings from Exterior Fire Exposures. First draft meeting minutes from the Oct. 1, 2024, meeting are posted under the “next edition” tab in the “first draft committee information” section. The committee also posted first draft ballot information, including the public input with responses report, first revisions report and final ballot.
