TEXAS

BOKA Powell, a Dallas-based architecture and design firm, has completed master planning and design work on the first phase of the Forest Park Medical Center, San Antonio, a specialty surgical hospital and medical office building slated to open next year. The $95 million physician-owned medical center is being developed by the Neal Richards Group.

GEORGIA

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Savannah District broke ground on Phase II of its two-phase, $100 million addition and alteration project to enhance patient services at Winn Army Community Hospital, Fort Stewart, Ga. Leo A. Daly is providing planning, programming, architectural, engineering and interior design services. McCarthy Building Cos. is the general contractor.

ARIZONA

A groundbreaking recently was held for the new Department of Veterans Affairs Southeast Community Based Outpatient Clinic in Gilbert. McShane Development Co. has selected design/builder McShane Construction Co. and REES Architects for the project, scheduled for completion by spring 2014. Design and construction will meet LEED for Healthcare silver standards.

SOUTH CAROLINA

Hilton Head Regional Healthcare and Rendina Cos. hosted a groundbreaking for a new $16 million, 60,000-square-foot state-of-the-art medical center in Bluffton. It will offer numerous specialized health care services, including orthopedics, diagnostic imaging, various types of therapies and doctors' offices.
