Health Facilities Management earns editorial honors
Health Facilities Management recently received three editorial awards from the American Society of Healthcare Publication Editors. The awards are based on works published in 2010.
Our "Trends in Health Care" report in December received a Gold Award for Best Special Report/Section. Five articles chronicled how the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act likely will impact the design, construction and maintenance of health care facilities.
Two other reports received Bronze Awards. Recognized for Best Original Research, our "Green + Greener" report in July was based on a sustainability survey conducted jointly by Health Facilities Management, the American Society for Healthcare Engineering and the Association for the Healthcare Environment (AHE).
In the category of Best Profile, our story "From Good to Great" in the September issue profiled the environmental services team from Doylestown (Pa.) Hospital. The team won our 2010 Environmental Services Department of the Year competition, sponsored jointly by Health Facilities Management, AHE and Cintas Corp.
