NFPA weekly update: Oct. 7-11, 2024

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) manages more than 300 codes and works with more than 250 technical committees in its codes and standards development process. Below is a list of NFPA committee happenings for the week of Oct.7-11.  

Meeting news

NFPA 30B, Code for the Manufacture and Storage of Aerosol Products. The committee posted first draft meeting minutes from its Sept. 16-18 meeting as it progresses on the code’s 2027 edition. The committee reviewed public inputs and developed first revisions and committee inputs as necessary. The committee also created four task groups to delve into specific code issues. The meeting minutes are posted under the “Next Edition” tab in the “First Draft Committee Information” section. 

NFPA 232, Standard for the Protection of Records. The committee scheduled a second draft meeting for Feb. 18-19, 2025, where it will continue to review the standard’s 2026 edition. The meeting notice is posted under the “Next Edition” tab in the “Second Draft Committee Information” section.

Other news

NFPA 1, Fire Code. The committee posted two errata to correct references in the 2024 and 2021 editions. Errata 1-24-2 for the 2024 edition and errata 1-21-4 for the 2021 edition are posted under the “Current & Prior Editions” tab in the “Errata” section.

NFPA 221, Standard for High Challenge Fire Walls, Fire Walls, and Fire Barrier Walls. The committee released ballot voting results on the first draft of the standard’s 2027 edition. The final ballot is posted under the “Next Edition” tab in the “First Draft Committee Information” section.
