The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) manages more than 300 codes and works with more than 250 technical committees in its codes and standards development process. Below is a list of NFPA committee happenings for the week of Jan. 27-31.

Cybersecurity chapter public input

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) is requesting feedback on a newly proposed chapter focused on cybersecurity for the 2027 edition of NFPA 99, Health Care Facilities Code.

Notice of intent to make a motion

Committees for the following standards announced their notice of intent to make a motion (NITMAM) periods will open next month. NITMAMs can be submitted from March 27 to May 8 for second draft reports of the following standards: 

Final ballots

  • NFPA 54, National Fuel Gas Code. The committee released first draft ballot information for the 2027 edition, including the public input report, first revisions report, committee input report and final ballot. The ballot information is posted under the “next edition” tab in the “first draft committee information” section.
  • NFPA 70, National Electrical Code. The committee released the final ballot on tentative interim amendment (TIA) No. 1809. The TIA ballot is posted under the “next edition” tab in the “other committee information” section.
