August Toolbox: Water conservation, pest control and hand hygiene
Water Conservation // Chicago Faucets Co.'s new infographic uses bold, simple images to illustrate the impact of switching to low-flow faucets. It compares the gallons of water used based on a faucet’s flow rate and provides links to help users select low-flow faucets for any application. The resource is part of the company’s ongoing drive for water conservation in commercial facilities.
Pest Control // Orkin’s Comprehensive Guide to Flies & Fly Control Strategy covers why facility managers should be concerned about flies and what types of flies are commonly seen around facilities. The guide explains what to look for and how to develop an effective control program. It also lays out preventive measures to help facility managers stop flies from entering their facilities.
hand hygiene // SCA Tork has developed an online service called Tork Healthy Hands that allows hospitals to create customized posters to promote hand-hygiene best practices among staff, patients and visitors. Users can choose from seven poster themes that focus on different aspects of hand hygiene, such as the World Health Organization’s My Five Moments for Hand Hygiene approach. Users can choose a specific poster size and the signage can be customized with additional text and logos.
