DESIGN // The Center for Health Design has launched a new resource in its new Topic Toolbox series. The Population Health Toolbox contains a deep-dive issue brief, five written interviews, three video interviews, two case studies, nine webinars, blogs, design strategies and more. It also has a handy checklist for users who are working to integrate population health strategies into the design and planning of health care facilities. Some of the resources are available to the public and others require membership.

EQUIPMENT // Scotsman Ice Systems' white paper "Insights for Healthcare Facilities," helps facility managers to ask the right questions when specifying ice and water dispensers. The paper presents five key questions facility managers need to ask when updating, replacing or adding ice and water dispensers, to ensure that the unit selected will meet facility needs. From how the unit will be used to desired ice forms to demand and capacity, the experts at Scotsman outline these considerations and provide guidance to make selecting the right equipment as painless as possible.

FIRE SAFETY // Greenheck’s latest video details the installation process for Greenheck fire and combination fire smoke dampers. The step-by-step video shows proper damper installation, and highlights Greenheck damper features that help to minimize installation costs while ensuring that UL555 and other building code requirements are met. The installation elements covered in the video apply to all Greenheck fire dampers and combination fire smoke dampers, except for those that are specifically designed to be mounted outside the plane of the fire-rated barrier.
