ASHE Energy to Care Award application deadline approaching

Don't miss out on an opportunity to recognize your health care facility's sustainability efforts
|

The American Society for Healthcare Engineering’s (ASHE) free benchmarking program Energy to Care provides value to health care organizations for energy-saving efforts throughout the year. Increasing energy savings allows hospitals to free up resources that can be then applied to patient care.

The Energy to Care Award recognizes hospitals for energy-efficiency achievements. In 2017 approximately 50 hospitals from around the country received the award. However, approximately 150 eligible facilities did not apply and missed out on this opportunity.

ASHE has developed a number of tools to help your hospital achieve the honor it deserves. The award application has been updated and streamlined, making it easier to understand. Information you need to fill out the application form is spelled out at the top of each section and can be easily gathered before you begin.

Once all your data is up to date in the Energy Star Portfolio Manager ask one of your peers to review it and sign off on it. Whomever you select as your peer reviewer must be an ASHE member. ASHE chapters are eligible to serve as reviewers as well.

If you still have trouble with the application process, the Energy to Care Award webinar contains many helpful hints on how to find the information you need to fill out the application form. The presentation walks applicants through the entire application process.

Don’t overlook this exciting opportunity to be acknowledged for the work your facility does every day to help the environment and reduce energy costs.  Application are due to ASHE by April 1.
