NFPA weekly update: Feb 24-28

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) manages more than 300 codes and works with more than 250 technical committees in its codes and standards development process. Below is a list of NFPA committee happenings for the week of Feb. 24-28.

NFPA 70E, Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace. The first draft report of the standard’s 2027 edition is open for public commenting. The report is posted under the “next edition” tab, and the commenting window closes June 3.

NFPA 99B, Standard for Hypobaric Facilities. The first draft report of the standard’s 2027 edition is open for public commenting. The report is posted under the “next edition” tab, and the commenting window closes June 3.

NFPA 855, Standard for the Installation of Stationary Energy Storage Systems. The second draft report of the 2026 edition has been posted for review. The report is posted under the “next edition” tab, and stakeholders can submit a notice of intent to make a motion by March 27.

NFPA 37, Standard for the Installation and Use of Stationary Combustion Engines and Gas Turbines, 2027 edition. The committee posted a first draft meeting notice for upcoming meetings taking place May 21-22. The notice is posted under the “next edition” tab in the “first draft committee information” section.

NFPA 53, Recommended Practice on Materials, Equipment, and Systems Used in Oxygen-Enriched Atmospheres, 2026 edition. The committee posted second draft meeting minutes from its Feb. 19 meeting. The minutes are posted under the “next edition” tab in the “second draft committee information” section.

NFPA 70B, Standard for Electrical Equipment Maintenance, 2026 edition. The committee posted a second draft meeting agenda for its upcoming meetings taking place March 18-19. The agenda is posted under the “next edition” tab in the “second draft committee information” section.

NFPA 70E, Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace, 2027 edition. The committee posted first draft meeting minutes from its Jan. 14-17 meetings. The minutes are posted under the “next edition” tab in the “first draft committee information” section. 

NFPA 99B, Standard for Hypobaric Facilities, 2027 edition.
