NFPA weekly update: Dec. 30, 2024 to Jan. 3, 2025

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) manages more than 300 codes and works with more than 250 technical committees in its codes and standards development process. Below is a list of NFPA committee happenings for the week of Dec. 30, 2024.

Meeting minutes and agendas

NFPA 99, Health Care Facilities Code. An agenda for the upcoming Jan. 15 meeting regarding the first draft of the 2027 edition has been posted under the “next edition” tab in the “first draft committee information” section.

NFPA 99B, Standard for Hypobaric Facilities. An agenda for the upcoming Jan. 15 meeting regarding the first draft of the 2027 edition has been posted under the “next edition” tab in the “first draft committee information” section.

NFPA 855, Standard for the Installation of Stationary Energy Storage Systems. Minutes from the meeting that took place Aug. 26-29 regarding the second draft of the standard’s 2026 edition are posted under the “next edition” tab in the “second draft committee information” section.

NFPA 1225, Standard for Emergency Services Communications. First draft meeting agendas for the upcoming Jan. 7-8 and Jan. 9-10 meetings have been posted under the “next edition” tab in the “first draft committee information” section. The meetings are being held to discuss the standard’s 2027 edition.

Reports, ballots and public input

NFPA 30B, Code for the Manufacture and Storage of Aerosol Products. The first draft ballot for the code’s 2027 edition is posted under the “next edition” tab in the “first draft committee information” section. The ballot includes the public input with responses reports, committee input reports, first revisions reports and ballot results.

NPFA 90A, Standard for the Installation of Air-Conditioning and Ventilating Systems. The first draft ballot for the standard’s 2027 edition is posted under the “next edition” tab in the “first draft committee information” section. The ballot includes the public input with responses reports, committee input reports, first revisions reports and ballot results.

NFPA 780, Standard for the Installation of Lightning Protection Systems. Proposed tentative interim amendment (TIA) No. 1808 for the standard’s 2023 edition is open for public comment until Feb. 3. The TIA is posted under the “current & prior editions” tab.
