Missouri

HOK has been named executive architect on the long-term project to renew the medical center campus which encompasses Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis Children's Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine. The first phase includes an expansion of St. Louis Children's Hospital with enlarged diagnostics and treatment spaces and conversion of semiprivate rooms to private rooms.

Massachusetts

Margulies Perruzzi Architects has been selected to design and renovate a medical office building for National Development and a patient care facility for its tenant, Winchester Hospital. The 80,000-square-foot building in Woburn will be renovated to accommodate Winchester Hospital clinicians and other area medical providers.

New Jersey

The Cooper Cancer Institute recently broke ground for a new cancer institute in Camden. Architecture firm Francis Cauffman designed the building, which is part of Cooper University Hospital's initiative to create a regional health science campus. The institute will bring progressive cancer treatment services under one roof, allowing for more collaboration among doctors. The facility will be finished in September 2013.

Texas

Christus Santa Rosa Children's Hospital, San Antonio, plans to invest $135 million to expand and renovate its downtown campus and develop it into a new, freestanding children's hospital with 250 to 275 beds. WHR Architects, working in association with Overland Partners and Stanley Beaman & Sears, has been selected for the project. Construction is set to begin in October.
